ABPmer Deliver Stena Line Ports a Risk Management Toolkit

ABPmer, a leading UK ports consultancy, has provided Stena Line, Europe’s leading ferry company, with a customised MarNIS ‘Port Assessment Toolkit’ for managing marine risk within their network of UK Stena Line Ports.

The MarNIS ‘Port Assessment Toolkit’ has been adapted to help Stena Line comply with the requirements of the Port Marine Safety Code, with tailored versions of report formats, customised risk controls, plus cause and hazard lists to provide a common standard for all ports within the Group.

Peter Whitehead, ABPmer Ports Liaison said, “We are delighted to deliver a customised marine risk management system to Stena Line.  Since the MarNIS Toolkit has been available, significant interest has been shown by a number of port and harbour authorities in tailoring the product to their individual needs”.

Capt Andy Humphreys, Stena Line’s Safety and Environment Manager said “We are very happy to have a new risk management system which has enabled Stena Line to enhance our system of risk assessment, marine incident recording and management control, whilst complying fully with the UK’s reporting standards”.

The Port Assessment Toolkit prototype can be downloaded from the following website link: http://www.abpmer.net/MarNIS/.  A customisation service can be provided by ABPmer along with ongoing technical support, product upgrades and help desk facilities.
